The Acclimatization Hike of Gulmarg. Located just beyond the ridge of Gondola Phase 2 in Gulmarg, Alpathar Lake is a pristine, high-altitude lake that sits in a dramatic rocky cirque. It remains frozen deep into the summer month of June, earning its local nickname, the "Frozen Lake."
Because it starts from the high Gondola station, it is a perfect single-day acclimatization hike for ski clients during winter, or a memorable day-hike for summer resort guests.
